Denim Jacket (Cut it myself) || Red Bralette (Similar & I really love this one)
Almost every little girl's dream is to grow up to be a Disney Princess. I know mine was..well when I wan't too busy playing football & manhunt with the boys. One of my favorite things to do was play dress-up. I'd put on my mom's makeup and clothes and walk around the house in her way-too-big-for-me heels. Pursuing a career in fashion styling is a lot like playing real life dress-up & saying I love it wouldn't even begin to cover it!
I collaborated with a photographer on this "Disney Princess Remix" project, in which I took inspiration from Princess Jasmine from the movie Aladdin. In the first look, I styled a wearable glam look inspired by Princess Jasmine's traditional turquoise outfit. The look I styled is really simple and you can find similar pieces at many fast fashion stores such as Forever 21, American Apparel, H&M, etc. A cropped came and body con midi skirt are very form-fitting and sexy without being too much. Personally, I'm not crazy about how this combo looks on me, I prefer one piece to be looser whether it's my top or bottom. But, for this situation this look was perfect.
For the second look, I styled an edgy streetwear look inspired by Princess Jasmine's red prisoner outfit. Red is one of the most flattering colors for my skin tone, probably because I have red undertones. Mesh joggers and the denim jacket I cut myself were the focus of this look. I kept it simple with nude pumps and a red lace bralette.
These looks were so much fun to style & shoot! Inspiration is everywhere, even in Disney movies. So, if you're ever unsure of what to wear just take some inspiration from your favorite kids movie and have fun with it!
I have some more Disney Princess inspired looks to come, so stay tuned!
